Violin Lessons

Those of all ages and levels can take violin lessons at Eagle Rock Music Studio. If you have a child who is an elementary school novice, or if you are a more advanced player looking to improve your chops, or if your situation is something in between, Eagle Rock has something to fit your needs.

History

Used since the Baroque period, the violin first emerged in Italy in the early 16th century. Due to its continued use in classical music since then, it is one of the most recognizable instruments today, and is used in country, Irish and bluegrass music, as well, though it is frequently called a fiddle in this setting.

Appeal

The violin is still an instrument in widespread use, and is frequently chosen as an instrument to study by children. Violins are used in orchestras around the world, and in greater numbers than the rest of the instruments in symphonies and the like, since more are needed to create a large enough volume to be heard along with louder instruments in the orchestral setting.

Lessons

Our mission is to help students discover what genre of music they are most passionate about learning, whether it is classical, jazz, pop, or fiddle. Lessons include scales, technique, ear training, sight-reading, and music theory, with an emphasis on solos, duets, performance and the option to prepare for auditions and youth orchestras. We tailor the lessons to the needs of each individual student.

We offer violin lessons for professionals, students and recreational players.
It takes time and practice to develop a working level of proficiency on the violin, and a specific plan of action from a teacher to identify your goals and to then work towards them. While playing for recreation removes the stress involved from playing competitively, the same principles of identifying goals and working towards them with specific solutions in mind apply when teaching in this setting.

Eagle Rock Music Studios is located just north of downtown Los Angeles between Glendale and Pasadena. For more information or to set up a lesson, please call us at 323-309-8467.
